* | x60,t60: delete manually added c4 state | Arthur Heymans | 2016-06-19 | 2 | -147/+0 |
| | | | | | | | The ich7 datasheet "Intel® I/O Controller Hub 7 (ICH7) Family" has a reg called GEN_PMCON_1 in which c3 can automatically be upgraded to c4. This is already set in coreboot. | ||||
* | Add sound card config for x60 | Arthur Heymans | 2016-06-19 | 1 | -0/+65 |
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | The sound card on the x60 is not configured in coreboot. This causes the headphones not to be automatically detected/used when inserted which it does on the vendor bios. The internal microphone is also not set as default. I found on the coreboot wiki how to get the config from vendor bios. In GNU/linux run: for x in /sys/class/sound/card0/hw*; do cat "$x/init_pin_configs" > pin_"$(basename "$x")"; done for x in /proc/asound/card0/codec#*; do cat "$x" > "$(basename "$x")"; done which gives the pin config of the vendor bios. | ||||
* | Enable extended states and dynamic L2 cache | Arthur Heymans | 2016-05-31 | 3 | -0/+52 |
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch sets msr bits to enable dynamic L2 cache which is a requirement for C4E, which is also enabled by this patch. the bit for C2E is also set. Those msr bits are taken from later cpus and seem to work fine. C2 state performs particularly bad. Before this patch it consumed ~17-18W. After this patch it dropped to 14W. Idle power usage (C4) seems to remain very similar. | ||||

* | gm45: 256M default vram | Arthur Heymans | 2016-05-24 | 12 | -0/+214 |
| | | | | | | 352M vram seems to be quite unstable on targets with 4GB or more. 256M has yet to show issues on different ram configurations. This might be a good default for libreboot. | ||||

* | set vram on gm45 to 352M | Arthur Heymans | 2016-05-19 | 13 | -5/+256 |
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch enables all vram sizes and sets the default to 352M for libreboot. Normally users have to clear their vram for this to happen. using "nvram -c random" But there a 2 better option: coreboot provides to always load the defaults in its menuconfig update the flashscript to reset cmos Signed-off-by: Arthur Heymans <arthur@aheymans.xyz> | ||||

The release archives will be bigger, but this is a necessary change that makes libreboot development easier. At present, there are boards maintained in libreboot by different people. By doing it this way, that becomes much easier. This is in contrast to the present situation, where a change to one board potentially affects all other boards, especially when updating to a new version of coreboot. Coreboot-libre scripts, download scripts, build scripts - everything. The entire build system has been modified to reflect this change of development. For reasons of consistency, cbfstool and nvramtool are no longer included in the util archives. |
