* Documentation: convert to GFDLFrancis Rowe2015-07-111-10/+40
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Some sections were owned by other people; these were re-written, deleted, or moved. Alternatively, they were re-licensed as-is, with permission from the relevant author(s). Patrick "P. J." McDermott on #libreboot freenode IRC: Saturday, 11 July 2015 log: <francis7> pehjota, you made a few changes to the libreboot documentation <francis7> pehjota, do I have your permission to re-license those parts under GFDL 1.3/higher, with no invariant sections or back/front cover texts? <francis7> (if so, can you write to the mailing list?) <pehjota> francis7: Sure, I'll send a message to the libreboot-dev list later. (pehjota=Patrick McDermott) (francis7=Francis Rowe, the person making this commit) TODO: docs/install/bbb_ehci.html: Get permission from author to re-license it (contact Alex David. tty0_ on IRC)
* Changed cryptomount occurences to exclude SOURCE.Tobias Heinicke2015-07-011-2/+9
| | | | | | | | The GNU/Linux installation guides call 'cryptomount -a', which ignores any SOURCE parameter given and mounts all encrypted volumes regardless. To avoid confusion I removed the parameter and added a small note regarding mounting only specific partitions.
* s/machine/systemFrancis Rowe2015-06-271-1/+1
| | | | It was annoying me.
* docs/gnulinux/encrypted_*.html: Remove notes about --unrestrictedFrancis Rowe2015-05-201-6/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | These instructions were dangerous. I was provided with them by a user who found them, and I thought that it would be safe to allow access to boot the HDD so long as the OS was encrypted. However, this is not the point. With that option unrestricted, anyone with physical access could replace the HDD with another LUKS-encrypted one with the same set up (just a different system, different key, different passphrase, etc) and now they are able to run their own code on that laptop. This *is* dangerous. There is a lot that an attacker can do to the laptop if they are able to boot an OS on it! Basically, Francis Rowe was being foolish to add these instructions. Now he's wised up a bit.

* docs/gnulinux/encrypted_*.html: Remove mention of password lengthFrancis Rowe2015-05-151-1/+1
| | | | It just scared people, and wasn't very useful advice.

* docs/gnulinux/encrypted_trisquel.html Remove conclusion sectionFrancis Rowe2014-11-091-8/+0
| | | | It's useless. Get rid of it.
* docs/gnulinux/encrypted_trisquel.html Remove update instructionsFrancis Rowe2014-11-091-9/+0
| | | | | | | While updating is a good practise when installing a new distro, it is completely irrelevant for this tutorial. This tutorial is using the net install method which installs the latest updates automatically, anyway.

* Documentation: *major* cleanup.Francis Rowe2014-11-051-0/+308
Cleanup was long overdue. Old structure was messy and inefficient.
